We have just been to Maws Vintage Tea room for an Afternoon Tea for two which was bought by our daughter for her Dads birthday. What a treat! The new owner has made such a difference to this place. The new interior is so pretty and stylish in its shabby chic approach, we could have been in a London tea room. The afternoon tea itself rivalled many of the much bigger hotels in the area and considerably better than some. We chose the sandwich filling ourselves and a cake and we decided to share the cake that we chose and have half a slice each. When tea arrived it was served on a traditional cake stand (one each) and the presentation looked fabulous. It was the little touches that made it, from the pretty salad, mini pork pie and scotch egg served with the finger sandwiches to the clotted cream and jam with the scone, French fancies and Viennese whirls, and of course the cake we had chosen too. My husband managed to finish off all of his and eat one of my finger sandwiches but I was so stuffed I wrapped up my half slice of lemon drizzle cake and brought it home for later! We will be spreading the word about this little slice of heaven in the gorge and bringing friends here too. I can't praise them enough, the people were so very welcoming and the atmosphere friendly and relaxed, a real treasure of a find.
As a local I frequently visit the Tea Room.
This is a lovely place and the staff are always so friendly. Whether it's just a coffee you fancy or a lunch time snack you won't be disappointed. I sometimes take friends for the afternoon teas which are gorgeously presented and very reasonable in price.
An added bonus for me too is that it's doggie friendly!
A must visit tea room in beautiful Shropshire.
We come here often & always enjoy it.. the staff, drinks and food are all lovely.
We recently won an afternoon tea for 4, which we had today and it was gorgeous, we all thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks again xx
